* Graded assignments, tests/quizzes, and projects are all calculated as percentages.
* The percentages for students’ grades are as follows:
F 63 and below
Weighted Grade Percentages
Tests/Quizzes: These assessments reflect a student's understanding of learning standards taught over a period of a time (such as a unit of study). Since there are fewer test grades within a quarter, these grades ultimately have a larger impact on quarter grades than classwork even though they are weighted the same.
Classwork: This is work done solely in class that students have previously been taught and are being assessed for understanding. (This is not daily practice).
Homework: This work includes assignments not necessarily completed solely in class, but is work that can be assessed for understanding of skills that have previously been taught/reviewed in class. Practice homework may at times be marked as a "Participation" grade.
Participation: These are points may be given as points earned out of a total of 10 and are marked with a "P __/10" on the assignment. These points are not given solely on completion, but show that the student completed all required expectations with understanding. Points are deducted for missing components and/or lack of effort.
